Remedial Sports Massage

Service Description
Targeted massage to support recovery, mobility and an active body. Whether you're a regular runner, gym-goer, cyclist, dancer or simply someone who puts their body through its paces, remedial sports massage can help you look after the muscles that work hard for you. Remedial sports massage is a targeted form of massage designed to support the body's muscles and soft tissues before, during or after physical activity. Rather than simply providing a full-body massage, your therapist can focus on the areas that are doing the most work or that feel particularly tight or restricted. You don't need to be a professional athlete to benefit. Remedial sports massage can be equally valuable if your activity is walking, gardening, yoga, running after the kids or spending long days at a desk. Your treatment may incorporate a range of techniques including deeper massage, compression, kneading, stretching and other targeted soft-tissue techniques. What can remedial sports massage help with? Remedial sports massage can help you focus on areas of muscular tension and support your body's recovery following physical activity. Your therapist may work with areas such as: Tight hamstrings Calf tension Tight quads Glute and hip tension Lower back tension Neck and shoulder tension Tightness around the upper back Muscular fatigue General post-exercise stiffness Restricted-feeling movement The treatment is tailored to your body and the activities you do, rather than simply focusing on one particular muscle group. Sports massage before or after exercise Sports massage can be incorporated into different stages of your training or activity. A lighter, more stimulating treatment may be appropriate before activity, while a more focused treatment can be useful as part of your recovery routine afterwards. The most appropriate approach depends on what you're doing, how your body feels and when you're having your treatment. If you've recently completed particularly intense exercise, your therapist can adapt the pressure and techniques accordingly. Your remedial sports massage at Breathe Wellbeing We take a personalised approach to every massage. Your session begins with a consultation so your therapist can understand your activity levels, areas of concern and what you'd like to achieve from the treatment. Your therapist will then create a treatment around your individual needs. Initial Treatments need to be booked for 1 hour to give time for a thorough consultation
