Manual Lymph Drainage Massage
Available with Amira
Service Description
Gentle, rhythmic massage to support the natural movement of lymph fluid. Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a specialised form of massage using light, slow and rhythmic movements to encourage the natural flow of lymph fluid through the body. Unlike traditional massage, MLD uses very light pressure and repetitive movements rather than deep or firm techniques. At Breathe Wellbeing in Hove, your treatment is tailored to you, creating a peaceful space to relax while your therapist works with the body’s lymphatic system. What is Manual Lymph Drainage? The lymphatic system forms part of the body’s circulatory and immune systems, transporting fluid through a network of lymph vessels and nodes. MLD uses gentle movements across the skin, following specific lymphatic pathways to support the natural movement of this fluid. The treatment is slow, calming and should not require deep or painful pressure. What can MLD help with? Manual Lymph Drainage may be suitable if you are looking for: Support for normal lymphatic flow A very gentle form of massage A calming, restorative treatment Support for feelings of heaviness or fluid retention Gentle bodywork following periods of inactivity An alternative when firmer massage is not appropriate Relaxation and time to slow down Chronic Fatigue Fibromyalgia Long Covid Many people also enjoy MLD simply because the light touch and slow rhythm can be deeply relaxing.
